Born on May 22, 1961, in Havana, Cuba, Rito Ramón Aroche is a poet and literary critic. He is considered one of the key voices of the so-called Eighties Generation. Regarding his work, renowned Cuban critic Enrique Saínz once wrote: “Rito Ramón Aroche creates experimental poetry with a unique perception of space and things, shaped at once by the readings that have contributed to the construction of his identity—readings that are formative through their linguistic experience and revealing through the distinct order of the universe offered to us by various thinkers and poets of these postmodern times.”
