asheé
Our mission at Ashée is to serve as a vibrant cultural platform that connects and promotes Latin American and European artists. We are committed to fostering cultural and artistic exchange by providing an inclusive space where diverse artistic expressions can flourish and be appreciated by a global audience. Through exhibitions, workshops, and events, we seek to inspire, educate, and enrich people’s lives through art.
Im Zwischenraum
Im Zwischenraum emerges as a space of encounter for artists who come together from different geographical contexts, with diverse backgrounds and forms of expression, to explore the multiple possibilities of contemporary art. The title refers to that intermediate zone in which the works enter into dialogue with one another, generate tensions, create resonances, and open up new modes of perception.
The participating artists — Domeca Arteaga, Marc Vaudroz, Pango, Rayder Basinde, Robert Schwander, Orsolya Balvinsky, Alexander Zwalen, Tina Behnstedt, Federico Guerrero, Honys Torres, Alfredo Coello, Roberto Noguel, Lazaro Moreira, Gerardo Liraza, and Luis Saldaña — form a pluralistic mosaic of voices that, far from homogeneity, celebrates difference as a creative force. Each artist contributes an individual perspective, yet together they form a collective fabric that reflects the vitality of contemporary art in both its global and local dimensions.
The In-Between as Metaphor
Im Zwischenraum is not merely a title, but a metaphor for the condition of contemporary art today: a space of transition and negotiation between tradition and the present, between intimacy and society, between the material and the symbolic. Within this in-between space, the artworks become bridges that connect personal experiences with universal questions.
The artists gathered here address themes ranging from memory and identity to social critique and aesthetic exploration. The exhibition invites the audience to move among these proposals and to recognize that contemporary art does not offer definitive answers, but rather open questions that challenge our ways of being in the world.
The Catalogue as a Shared Space
The accompanying catalogue is not merely a documentary record, but a space for reflection and dialogue. The artists’ biographies function as traces that allow a deeper understanding of the density of their works, while the curatorial approach appears as a mediating practice: between artwork and viewer, between biography and interpretation, between the power of gesture and the subtlety of detail.
